Cleaned up log of the PP Hunger Games Interview with District 1 Male tribute, Vitalis Dieterle.

-----------------------------------------------------

Aiden sat up on the stage like a flamboyant cotton candy ball smothered in Pepto Bismol. He was wearing his famous fuchsia tuxedo with purple trim and his hair was done up in a pompadour as he flashed a smile, rounding his chair to the audience. "Welcome to the live broadcast of the Hunger games interviews! Tonight we're going to be interviewing each of our fabulous tributes in order by district! Right now let's go ahead and get started with our sexy male tribute from our very own Capitol, Cydonia, right here! Please help me welcome Vitalis Dieterle!” He stood up and held out a hand indicating the blond Jolteon man off to one side, sitting with the other tributes. He waited for the man to reach him with his hand outstretched for a handshake and he stood waiting with a charming smile on that porcelain face of his, excitement bubbling out of him.

Vitalis strode over confidently when his name was called. He flashed a bright smile at the crowd and raised a hand to them, winking as he did so. His golden suit was toned down from the tribute parade outfit he’d worn, but it was reminiscent of the flashy magnificence and was clearly still evoking the idea of him being made of solid gold. His cuff links were particularly bright, set with diamonds and glittering under the bright show lights every time he moved his arms. His stylist team had shined his shoes all the way up to when he stepped out onto the stage. He didn't think he'd ever seen such bright shoes in his entire lifetime...he was impressed with his own stylist team again. But he had to admit, they'd probably gone overboard again in his opinion. No gold leaf on his face anymore though, Vitalis was clean cut and all powdered up for the interview. He had to fight off the stylist when she’d wanted to put eyeliner on him earlier…he didn’t want to look like a porcelain doll onstage, that was the girls’ job. Although he was supposed to be a symbol of luxury, he drew the line at putting on excessive make-up. Reaching out a long arm, he shook Aiden’s outstretched arm with a strong and firm grip, thanking him for the introduction.

“Welcome, Vitalis! Now...Rumors are going around that you're a bit of a charmer...Is that the case? Is that your secret talent? Did you charm the pants off the judges in the warroom to win you that lucky score of 6? Dish us the details please!” Aiden shouted nice and loud, causing the crowd to cheer with him. They too wanted to know what went on in the warroom.

Smiling again, Vitalis gave a laugh and leaned back into the seat. “Ah, well, I have been called that a few times in my life, but I admit the judges were a tough crowd…” He felt a shiver run down his back as he thought of the day he went into the Gamemaker’s Assessment…but his face betrayed none of his thoughts. He’d gotten a little over-zealous in his assessment and near destroyed the target he’d been using...he didn’t want to admit any of this to the audience of course…he didn’t want his family to have the satisfaction of knowing he’d been brutal and had gotten carried away in the heat of the moment. In fact, it terrified him that he’d done so in such a controlled environment…what happened when he was out in the wilderness actually fighting the other tributes? Would he get worse?*

Leaning forward and making pointedly direct eye-contact with Aiden, he pretended to be letting the host and the audience in on some great secret. “I wish the judges had simply swooned at my smiles,” He flashed the audience an example, almost feeling queasy at how much charisma he was trained to ooze. “It’s heavy in the room, as if you can…reach out and touch the pressure.” He grasped at a ghost. “But it really does come down to whether you can handle the pressure or not, and whether you can impress them with your skills and not your smiles.” On the word skills he clenched his hand, flexing his arm. Of course, this was just a completely ridiculous show…he had walked out the room afraid of what the judges had thought, and by some grace had been lucky enough to score a 6. He was acting all confident now on the show as if he’d known coming out of the assessment, but to be honest, it had been such a moment of relief when he’d heard his score…His heart had been on a constant roller-coaster these last few weeks...

And the Games hadn't even actually started...

Aiden chuckled at Vito. “Yes, well I'm sure many of the judges were swayed by that handsome smile of yours...but I'm sure that you have other skills as well...landing you such a high score! Tell us, are you afraid that getting such a high score is going to make you one of the "Ones to beat"? Are you afraid they will band together to off you?”

Cocking his head, Vitalis looked out into the audience. Yes…that thought had most definitely crossed his mind many times after hearing the scores, but then again, being known as a career tribute probably painted the target on his back a long time ago. “It might have marked me as a target, but then again, they give these scores for a reason, right? Let them come, let’s see if they CAN beat me.” And…he probably just sealed his fate with those words, but let them come. It was inevitable anyway. “Those who band together are always plotting against each other while they’re together. After all…there can only be one winner. If some of them band together to try and hunt me, I will be impressed. I didn’t think I warranted that much attention from the others to make others put their differences aside!” He smiled as he spoke his last sentence. It was true…there were two other tributes who had scored as high and higher than he did, and they were all probably targets now, but he would be surprised if the others made alliances just to hunt them. After all, company with people who would inevitably turn around and kill you after the other targets were dead…wasn’t exactly Vitalis’ idea of a smart move.

“So it seems that you're taking the lone ranger approach to all of this? Quite interesting.” Aiden smiled as he leaned on one of his fists. “Well you did score in the top 5 but someone beat you out...what do you think of the girl, Jacquette who got the highest score of a 7?”

Vitalis smiled as he recalled the girl from the fishing district. She was certainly one to be cautious around. “I respect her. She’s beautiful and intelligent.” He’d never spoken to her, aside from perhaps an acknowledgement when all the tributes ate together. He was holding firm with his decision not to engage the other tributes…there really was no point I they would all be dead in a few days… “If we weren’t under such circumstances I would love to get to know her better.” He said, laughing. “But in all seriousness, she must have done something quite spectacular for that score, and I do wish I had been there to see it! I am honored to be fighting in these games with someone like her.” But in his heart, he did wish that none of them had to fight in these games together. It was quite unfortunate…

“That's quite flattering of you to say of her, do I detect a hint of a crush in there somewhere?” Aiden jested as he pat one of his hands on Vito's knee and smirked at him, giving him the "Oh come on...you can tell us" look before he looked over and smiled brightly at the crowd and they definitely wanted to know more about that.

Vitalis felt the color rise in his cheeks when Aiden asked. Of course he didn’t have crush on her. He’d hardly even interacted with her. But at home Vitalis was one to openly flirt with any beautiful woman and under other circumstances he would definitely have approached her. Vitalis started laughing gently when Aiden patted his knee. “Oh, I’m afraid not. She is lovely, but I’m afraid I don’t know the other tributes too well. Besides…” he hesitated. “There was someone else…but perhaps I’ll never see her again…” At the last sentence his face fell a little. He looked at the ground for a moment, pausing as if he were reminiscing. Bringing his head up again, he smiled at Aiden, as if the person in that brief moment before was completely gone.

“And we will root for you so that you may return home and see her again!” Aiden smiled as he gently placed a hand on Vito's and he turned back to the camera and began to shout. “There you have it, our first tribute from right here in the Capitol and one of the top 3 ones to beat, Vitalis Dieterle!!” The crowd went wild with screams, cheers and clapping as Vito left the stage.

Wow, Vito definitely does fit the part of a superstar career tribute! Even his hair and eyes match his color scheme!
